We recommend washing your tray with a clean sponge using the same car wash detergent you use for the cabin of your vehicle. If you have a tonneau cover, it can be washed simultaneously with the car wash detergent and sponge for a thorough clean.

Caring for Your Canvas Canopy
To maintain your canvas canopy, gently brush it with a soft brush to remove dirt and dust. Then, hose it down with clean, cold water. This maintenance should be done every couple of weeks. Important: Do not use car wash detergents, soaps, bleach, or any products not specifically designed for canvas. Water only is the best approach for cleaning your canopy.

Annual Service Check

2. Build and Fitment Standards:

• All Aluminium Tray Bodies are built and fitted by Tip Top Equipment according to the ADR National Vehicle Standards, Bulletin No.6, ensuring they meet high-quality standards for safety and performance.

What the Lifetime Warranty Does Not Cover

1. Normal wear and Tear:

• The warranty does not cover general wear and tear that occurs over time with use.

2. Accidental or Malicious Damage:

• Damage resulting from accidents, vandalism, or misuse is not covered under the warranty

3. Incorrect Fitment:

• If the tray or storage drawer is fitted by someone other than Tip Top Equipment, and issues arise as a result, these will not be covered under our warranty.

3. Steel Trays:

• Steel Trays are guaranteed against significant rust for 12 months. Rust due to normal wear and tear is not included

Maintaining Your Warranty
1. Regular Checks:

• Where practical, we recommend returning to our factory once every 12 months for an overall check and to have all mounting points tightened. If returning is not possible, ensure your mechanic tightens the mounting points and lubricates hinges and catches during vehicle servicing.

2. Mirror Visibility and Wind Noise:

• While our trays meet standards, partial obstruction of side rear view mirrors and potential wind noise from cab roof protection bars may occur. It is the responsibility of the customer to address these issues if they arise.

3. Alternative Solutions:

• If existing mirrors are deemed insufficient, or if wind noise from roof bars is a concern, it is up to the dealer or customer to arrange and fit alternative solutions

Important Terms and Conditions

• Risk and Property: Ownership of goods remains with Tip Top Equipment until payment is fully received. Goods are at the purchaser’s risk post-delivery.
• Returns and Discrepancies: Goods must be returned within 7 days in their original condition. Any discrepancies must be reported within 48 hours of job completion

One advantage of a tub over a tray is that generally tubs are deeper than standard dropsides on Ute trays. While smaller items can be easily secured in a tub, using a tonneau cover or hard lid, the limited volume inside the tub makes this impractical for anyone who uses their Ute to transport larger loads of material or equipment. Tubs also have limited tie-down points, making it difficult and time-consuming to secure any type of load.

Compared to a tub, both alloy and steel trays are far more resistant to scratching, denting, and other damage. Aluminium is Lighter than Steel

Steel Trays are Beneficial for Certain Occupations

The strength and hardiness of steel make it a good choice for occupations that require the transportation of particularly hard and jagged materials.

For example, a steel tray could be a good choice if carting landscaping supplies such as dense rocks that could tumble at great force from the bucket of a front-end loader. Steel would also be useful if your work involves carting heavy-duty equipment such as steel Acrow props, jackhammer bits, or sledgehammers. A steel tray would be able to handle these tools being thrown around in the back unsecured, and would be strong enough to resist dents.

Steel Trays are Vulnerable to Corrosion

Due to the iron present in steel it is renowned for rusting. This problem is made even worse when the tray is used within 100km of the ocean, as the sea air and salt water can speed up the rusting process, leaving your tray looking stained and unattractive. While powder coating is fantastic for improving steel's resistance to corrosion, this finish is vulnerable to scratching which is easy to do when carrying sharp or heavy loads. Our ultra-strong rivets cannot be used on steel either. Instead it must be welded, making it vulnerable to cracking.

Children of the 80s 

Stallion Transport Engineering started in Adelaide in 1982. Over the decades it built a reputation for quality products, with the Stallion ute tray setting the industry standard and capturing the South Australian market. In 2016, Bolzen acquired Stallion, growing their business and product range along the way with a speciality in ute trays.

Also in the 80s, Tip Top Equipment had set up shop across the country in Sydney, soon becoming the market leader in New South Wales with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and growing product range.

Fast forward almost four decades, and both businesses are established industry leaders with loyal customers and a trusted product range. In fact, growing demand has left Bolzen unable to keep up with demand in recent years, and larger dealer and fleet customers has Tip Top needing to expand nationally.

Two become one

Having grown up together and created successful businesses in different states - each with complementing strengths - it made sense for Stallion (now Bolzen) and Tip Top Equipment to join forces, a union they formalised in early 2019.

In a very friendly and cooperative agreement, the Adelaide operation will continue to be run by Steve Grace, former Director of Bolzen, with Tip Top Equipment’s Daniel Brown remaining as National Director.
